If you have ever been channel surfing late night or on Sunday morning while you are trying to beat a hangover, you most likely have run into P90X. You probably even thought, man….I really need to get in shape!
Heck, you may even have picked up a copy of P90X to use as DVD bookend, but never really tried the program.
So, let’s get serious for a minute and discuss if it really works. I can tell you first hand from my experience with this home workout program, and give you my honest P90X Workout Reviews.
The Proof Is In The Pudding
P90X has been around since 2005 and has broken records for the highest selling tv product. It had done so well it is considered the mother ship of all the BeachBody workout programs.
People that get this program and stick to it get results and get results fast. No matter if they are a teenager looking to build some muscle, a mom trying to lose her baby weight or your average Joe trying to get in shape.
What To Expect From The Program
If you are new to exercise this is an in depth 6 day a week home exercise program. The workouts are 45 to 60 minutes offering a variety between strength, cardio, yoga, and stretching.
With this format your body will change and you will start to see great results. In the beginning every thing will feel weird. It’s like starting a new job. You know where to go, but what to do is hard. Plus your endurance will be minimal compared to what you will do after your first month.
The key to success on this program is your stick-to-it-ivness.
If you are thinking wow, this sounds like a great workout but I just don’t have that much time. That’s ok, the meat of all the workouts are 30 minutes and what ever you do is better than not doing anything at all.
If you want a shorter program try P90X 3.
My P90X Reviews
I stared this home workout program in 2008 and did several rounds. I got great results and still use it today.
The best part of P90X is that you start with a workout calendar for what goals you are trying to reach and all you have to do is press play.
It is a 12 week program broken down into 3, 4 week periods or periodization. Each section is designed to change you body and before it gets use to the workout (plateau), the program changes.
They call this muscle confusion and that is how you get results.
If you struggle to find time for a workout this may not be for you. If you want a faster paced workout in a shorter time, try P90X 3.
What You Will Need
As far as equipment goes, you don’t need a whole lot. You can get a pull up bar for the house or get some different colored bands. If you have weights, that’s great, but its not totally necessary.
That best way to do it is go to Walmart and pick up a weight kit or workout bands. That’s it, don’t let it be an excuse to get started.
I know so many people that have this program and it is somewhere in their house and they have never used it. That’s they key!
You have to do it to get results!
