After reading Why We Get Fat from Amazon, my eyes were opened to a way of thinking (backed by science) on two simple health rules:
- No Grains
- No Sugars
Wow! I was blown away that it could be that simple. If you want a good sciency book then Why We Get Fat is a good one. However, that is the basis of the book, backed by lots and lots and lots of science. It has great information, but it’s like reading a dictionary. Bleh.
The overall conclusion of the book is that Fat is good for you and if you want to lose weight, a high fat diet, will help you lose…well FAT!
If you look up the Ketogenic Diet which I am sure you have if you are here, you will see a ton of great success stories. And if you are considering the Keto Diet, you are interested in how to do it and is it good for you.
Well, I can tell you from experience and as a Personal Trainer, this program works! But, I’m not so much of a Keto person, I just follow those two rules of no grains or sugars.

Is it really that good?
My first book on this topic was Fitness Confidential written by a celebrity personal trainer who gave me the rules: no grains or sugars. As a trainer myself I have been looking for simple rules like this that everyone can use. Alas, I have finally found it!!
