Is a personal trainer worth it or is your health worth the risk?
I am quite sure that you have heard the saying that your health is your greatest wealth, right? Well if you health is your greatest wealth, then why do most people spend a lifetime destroying their health to build wealth?
Does it sound like a double edged sword? It may, but what it really comes down to is priorities:
- The State Of Your Health
- How healthy do you feel?
- Are you an experienced crash dieter?
- Do you hate to exercise?
When I ask most people this question, they tell me that they don’t eat that bad, and yes I hate to exercise and yes I have been on every diet on the planet.
Most of the time when someone finds a personal trainer it is the last resort. However, working with a personal trainer can be the best healthy decision you ever make.
Why? Because they know what they are doing, that’s why!
Why Is A Personal Trainer Worth It?
First of all, do you cut your own hair? Probably not, and if you find someone you really like you go to them for years. It is the same for trainers:
- They are masters of their craft
- The right one will be a great fit for you or your family
- They will push you harder than you push yourself
- Your will be more likely to make your training appointments than if you trained on your own
The main reason is….trainers give you accountability and results!
How To Choose A Personal Trainer
Finding the right personal trainer is often times as hard as finding a great hair stylist. If you decide to go to the big box gym and hire a personal trainer it may be like playing russian roulette.
The typical big box gym has a lot of trainers, but few really good ones. My suggestion is to check out the trainer board, and match up with someone that has experience and one that you think you would be a good fit.
Often times, there is more to training than meets the eye. The industry is growing and there are a lot of newbies out there. And in many places, it is a transitional career in the big gyms.
If you have some prep time, check out the local studios and find a great trainer. In the local studios, you have trainers that not only have a passion for what they do, but have a strong clientele of successful testimonials and results.
How Much Do Personal Trainers Cost?
This is the first thing people ask me. But when I dive deep in to my clients history, they have been on the verge of unhappy for a long time, and their health state is getting worse.
Here is the bigger question….what will it cost you to not work with a Personal Trainer?
The answer is simple:
Now that is the extreme, but it is so often the case. I have worked with several people that have lost over 60lbs in a year and it has been a life changing event. In that one year, you can drop the weight that took you years to put on. In retrospect, that year is short amount of time.
Is a personal trainer worth it? Absolutely!!
How important is your health? If you want to make a positive change, then get someone to help you.
