Are you ready to make money Personal Training? Are you ready to start a fitness business and have the freedom to finally earn what you are worth?
When I started my fitness career, I worked as a Personal Trainer for a big box gym. After a few months I built up good clientele and soon realized my clients kept coming back because of me and not because of the gym.
It wasn’t long when I decided to start my own fitness business!
“Multiple Streams of Income will be your key to running a successful fitness business!”
Within my first year of running my own fitness business, I realized that I wanted to make money personal training in more ways than one. I had a great business training my clients, but I wanted to do something with my downtime besides waste it playing games on my phone or catching up on TV.
Today, I use several different techniques to make money personal training. There are obviously more ways than these, but by concentrating on just a few I am more efficient.
5 Ways To Make Money Personal Training
1 Personal Training – The first one is easy and obvious. Whether you are a personal trainer, massage therapist, or nutrition coach, your main source of income is your first income stream.
In my fitness business I make money Personal Training with 1 on 1 sessions, Group Training with 2-4 people, and partner training with 2 people (usually related clients or couples).
2 Start A Fitness Blog – Your fitness website can easily be a fitness blog that you can set up in 20 minutes. I have two main blogs:
- One that is my business website
- One that is my fitness blog where I discuss tips to get in shape
I highly recommend this avenue! I work on it when I want, offer a great resource for my clients and prospective clients, and have a ton of fun doing it!
3 Start an Online Training Business – Think about it….if you have a business where you trained 25 clients offline and 25 clients online, would you be successful? Of course you would, and your online clients would take half the time and you wouldn’t get tired from the physical exertion of the training.
How do you train clients online? It starts with a Fitness Blog, and then you can move into online training. A blog is the easiest way to do it for clients you have not met. If you are training people you know, it can be done through email.
4 Sell Supplements – Personally, I don’t like this way to make money personal training. I have seen trainers pushing protein products and carrying it all over town in their car for what? A few extra bucks here and there? I understand if you want your clients to use specific products so they don’t buy some of the crap that is out there, but the time and effort involved in this part doesn’t make sense.
However, it is an option and if you find a way to do this that is easy and effective, please share in the comments below.
A Great Alternative – get referral commissions on your fitness blog when you refer someone to a supplement supplier! When a client of mine asks me what protein to take, I send them to my blog and tell them that they can order online or in a local store. However, my online prices are better and that is where I shop.
Two great suppliers are: bodybuilding.com or a1supplements.com. I recently switched to a1supplements because the word bodybuilding scares some people. A1supplements is very competitive on price and they ship very fast.
5 Offer Wellness Products – When I started trying to make money Personal Training and looking for additional income streams, I found a few nutritional companies. I know some trainers that have a ton of success this way, but after a few months it just wasn’t for me.
Companies that are great for this:
Personally, I found that with my fitness blog I could promote products on my own time and reach a greater audience than with a Wellness Company. I’m not saying this option is bad, it just didn’t work for me.
To make money personal training and adding income streams, finding what works for you is very important. If you hate typing and being creative, a Wellness Company may be a good fit for you!
Trying to make money personal training can be fun and challenging. Having one stream of income works great if you have a job. But, if you:
- Have your own fitness business
- Have a creative side to you
- Can copy and paste
Then your fitness blog awaits! Stop procrastinating and expand your income streams.
On your fitness blog you can:
- Make money Personal Training
- Train clients online
- Earn referral commissions on products your recommend (supplements, vitamix, workout equipment, etc)
