There are so many people out there with fitness marketing programs offering high dollar payouts, franchise opportunities, and so on.

Here are some simple steps to take to grow your fitness business. Whatever you do, keep it simple and don’t try to do everything at once. Set attainable and effective weekly goals and your business will explode!
1 Free Business Listing – Maximize your free online business listing like Yelp or YP. When I started I put up a Yelp Business page for my fitness business. Then I ran a promo for my clients for most check in’s, reviews, or other Yelp activities.
My result? I had a page full of 5 star reviews and was at the top of the Yelp listing for my area. What I didn’t expect is that I would soon be in the top ten for gyms in the whole metro area. Now that doesn’t guarantee business, but it doesn’t hurt either.
On the flip side, other website business listings will use Yelp as their listing for your service. And when you are at the top of Yelp, the other sites give you good ranking as well. And all it took was a few minutes of writing a good business review.
2 Business Cards – I know it sounds simple and outdated, but this works! However, on the back of your business cards add an introductory offer:

- $15 off your first Massage
Make an offer that you would make you take action! Now, go out to the local businesses and hand out your cards. They will look better than flyers and when you personally introduce yourself you will be making a connection with a potential client.

3 Doctor Referrals – Let’s face it, we are the best cure for what ails our community. But to get help the community is in the Doctor’s office. So, get down to the local medical plaza and start handing out those business cards that have an offer they can’t refuse.

4 Flyers – Flyers are dead! That is what most people will tell you. From my experience flyers do work, but not the kind that you hand out to the whole neighborhood.
Pick 20 places where your clients are, and hand out your business cards (or flyers) to those people every month. Eventually they will recognize you and you will start filling up your schedule.
5 Client Referrals – I personally started with two clients who referred me so many new clients, I was able to start my own fitness business.
Your best new clients will come from your best current clients!
