When it comes to email marketing, there are several services out there to help you maintain and grow your email list. But before we dive right in to the review, lets go over a few things for why email marketing may be beneficial to you.
Do you run a small business, service, or blog? If you do, then you have probably met the challenge of connecting with your clients, staying in touch, and being relevant. And this is exactly why they say, the money is in the list!
It is because your list allows you to connect with current clients, get new clients, and generate sales.
As the old adage goes, it may take you 5 no’s to get a yes….right? So maybe you get a no the first few times, but your email autoresponder is touching your clients at the right time with the possibility of turning that no into an absolute YES!
5 iContact Email Marketing Reviews
When it comes to finding a great email marketing service, there are a few must have’s on my list:
- Is it easy to use?
- Can I set up autoresponders?
- Is there A/B Testing?
- Are there creative opt in forms?
- Is it well priced based on the service provided?
Finding the right service with these must have’s will make your email marketing life easier and you will spend less time re-creating the wheel. That said, let’s dive in…
Is iContact easy to use? Yes.
It has a simple navigation bar that is tab driven and offers simple ways to find what you are looking for. You can add contacts, start a newsletter or email and use one of their endless templates.
If you are new to email marketing it would be easy to get started, import your email list and send your first email.
Can I set up autoresponders? Yes.
What is an autoresponder? It is quite simply a series of emails that go out to your new signups of whats happening, steps to make to buy your product, or just touching base with your new prospect.
This is actually very simple with iContact. And setting up an autoresponder will help you connect with your customer and establish trust.
Is there A/B Testing? Yes and No.
A/B Test is a common feature for email market that allows you to send different messages so you can determine which has the best results. With iContact this feature is call Split Results and this is only available if you upgrade to the Enterprise level.
This is unfortunate because this option is standard in with other email marketing services.
Are there creative opt in forms? No.
This is one of my disappointments with my iContact email marketing reviews. If you don’t already have an email list, building a creative opt in form for your website or blog can be time consuming.
iContact does offer a way to create a form but you are basically doing it from scratch. This is the sole reason I decided against iContact.
Is it well priced based on the service provided? No
You can get started with iContact and choose their 30 day free trial. If you don’t like what you see, then you don’t have to continue your commitment.
After your Free 30 days, it runs about $14 a month or less depending on how you pay.
If you already have a list of subscribers and want to send newsletters and emails, iConact will get the job done. But if you want a service that will wow you, try AWeber or GetResponse.
2 Great Alternatives
The biggest deal breaker for me with iContact was there non-existent opt in forms. That and as a beginner, it is great to have a little help getting started.
And here is what I found:
GetResponse has fantastic graphics for opt-in pages, newsletters, emails, and it touts itself as the World’s Easiest Email Marketing.
They also offer free training and show you the steps of getting you first 10,000 subscribers. That right there is worth its weight in gold.
Get a Free 30 day trial with GetResponse and see how easy it is!
AWeber is my other top tier iContact Email Marketing Reviews option. They are great, but it does cost a little more to get started. AWeber has a ton of opt-in forms, is very user friendly, and does have a 30 day free trial.
The big difference is that you do have to add your credit card for your free trial, there is no training like with GetResponse, and it starts at $19 a month. Either way, AWeber is an excellent service!
