This is my honest 24 Day Challenge by Advocare Reviews! And I will start by saying that before starting the Advocare 24 Day Challenge, I did not take or recommend many supplements beyond:
- Protein Shakes
However, as my hourglass pushed past my 40th birthday, I started to consider a supplement regimen that would help:
- Assist a healthy lifestyle
- Kick bad habits and put me back on track
- Help me feel better overall
- Get more nutrients that I don’t get in my diet
So, as I started the Advocare 24 Day Challenge, I was starting as an experiment and the test subject.
How the 24 Day Challenge Works
The 24 Day Challenge differs from any other diet or cleanse that I have seen or used. Instead of reducing your calories to a point where you can barely function, the 24 Day Challenge takes a different approach.
Since most programs take away what your body needs, it gives you more of what you need and even supplements you with what you are not getting. To simplify, most people have diets of convenience foods, empty calories, and addictions to sugar or unhealthy fats. When you take the challenge, you start with a 10 day cleanse that helps you detach your cravings for sugar, fat, carbs, and in some cases (like mine) alcohol!
And if you start the challenge in conjunction with healthy eating habits and an exercise routine, your results will skyrocket!
The Advocare Challenge has two Phases:
- The first 10 days of the Cleanse – Clearing your body of the bad stuff
- The last 14 days of the Max Phase – Adding good stuff to your body and boost your energy!
I never have been a fan of any cleanses until I took the 24 day challenge as an experiment. When you tell me cleanse, my imagination spirals into something that is more like a sitcom where the person on the cleanse has a laundry list of comical escapades that create pure entertainment.
And it was nothing like that at all!
During the cleanse phase it is suggested that you cut out or reduce:
- Processed Sugars
What? Those are too many rules…plus I love those things! I loved them so much, I felt like I would never live up to those standards.
But, here is one thing I didn’t realize:
The Advocare 24 Day Challenge helps you quit all of those addictions and separates your physical and emotional addictions!
So in essence, by starting the challenge, I would be able to stop all my sugar and alcohol tendencies if I just follow the rules.
I started the challenge after the holiday season in January when I had been feasting on cakes, beer, and tons of comfort food.
Some people take the Advocare 24 Day Challenge to lose weight, and some take it to detoxify and feel better. Whatever your reason, you will feel better and reach your goals IF you stick to the program.
On the Advocare 24 Day Challenge I lost NO weight. I did feel better, but still no movement on the scale. It’s not that it didn’t work, I just have a pretty clean diet to begin with.
I had much better results when I started this meal replacement shake.
Overall, if you start cutting things out of your diet like alcohol, soda, and junk food, you will see pounds drop off the scale. And then add a bunch of leafy greens (which is what the cleanse does), you will have immediate results. Most likely…
After the cleanse I felt fantastic!
- My coffee consumption went from 8 cups down to a manageable 2
- I had a more energy
- My muscle and joint pain from exercise is non-existent
- I detached my cravings from my holiday sugar and IPA addictions
My biggest down fall, was once the 24 day challenge was over, it was over! I could keep on the post cleanse supplements, but I felt it left me high and dry.
24 Day Challenge by Advocare Reviews: Pros vs Cons
Whether you are trying to lose weight, drop some unhealthy habits, or just feel better the 24 Day Challenge will help you succeed.
- The 10 day cleanse helps flush all the junk you have been putting in your body out and helps you hit reset.
- The supplements help you energize your body to get you moving.
If you have bad habits of eating crap, drinking sodas, and living on empty carbs, the 24 Day Challenge or any challenge will help you.
Here are a few things I didn’t like about the Advocare 24 Day Challenge:
- Spark is loaded with Sucralose aka Saccharin
- The meal replacement shakes are loaded with sugar and Saccharin
- The Vitamin Supplements have caffeine
- Once the challenge is over, its over…your bad habits may come back!
Basically if you have bad eating habits you are trading one evil for the other. Its like taking Oxycontin to get off Heroine. Instead of being a heroine addict, you are now hooked on prescription drugs.
What I Really Think
As I mentioned, before I took the challenge I never gave too much thought about taking health supplements. I cleansed my body and had zero weight loss although I did feel better.
But, I was pretty bummed that the scale didn’t move. Even following a healthy diet!
If you like the thought of the 24 Day Challenge, but are not sure don’t take it.
I was once a proponent of Advocare until I realized how much Saccharin is in their products. It really turned me off.
Then I tried a different program, and every thing changed! I lost weight, had energy to exercise, and wasn’t left in the dust 24 days later.
The Truth Be Told….I highly recommend this program over the Advocare 24 Day challenge!
